The Colbert Report Will End In December
Over the years of The Colbert Report, politicians have been called out, special guests have been made fools of, and truthiness has been spread – but all good things must come to an end.
After this segment on voter apathy, which included George Takei, Stephen Colbert announced that December 18th would be his final show.
Colbert will be taking over for David Letterman, who will be stepping down from CBS’ the Late Show.
On a personal note, Stephen Colbert, not a founding father or a living president, is the man who got me into politics.
I say that without an ounce of shame because, to me, Colbert helped make politics accessible to young people. He showed us how ridiculous they could be, but also, how important they were.
He is, to me, anyway, a Mark Twain figure – a razor-sharp wit satirizing the absurdity of our political culture.
And for that, Stephen Colbert, you’ve earned a serious tip of the hat from all of us.

Bill Maher Slams Sarah Palin And NFL In Hilarious ‘New Rules’ Segment
Bill Maher took aim at both Sarah Palin and the NFL in a hilarious ‘New Rules’ segment on HBO’s Real Time.
As you’ll recall, Sarah Palin and her family participated in an alcohol-fueled brawl last week that culminated in a media frenzy. Multiple witnesses stepped forward to describe the mess and Sarah herself recently confirmed the bruhaha on Facebook when she tried to defend her daughter, Bristol.
During his show on Friday night, Bill Maher mentioned Sarah Palin and the brawl and cleverly used her complaints about President Obama’s “mom jeans” to slam her.
New rule. Now that it’s been confirmed that the entire Palin family did in fact participate in a drunken brawl, Sarah Palin must admit that President Obama’s mom jeans aren’t half as embarrassing as her ‘mom genes.’
In addition, Maher also took a shot at the NFL and it’s handling of the various incidents of domestic violence committed by multiple players. Showing a picture of clothing tops that are commonly referred to as wife-beaters, Maher then showed a picture of what should now hold that title: NFL jerseys.
New rule. Im no fashion expert, but from now on, these shirts must be called jerseys, and these shirts should be called wife-beaters.
